He shifts his weight to stare down at her over his folded arms.
“You’re Sun Ce’s sister then?” Lu Bu sucks in a sharp hiss of breath. “Try to stay out of my way. Girls like you shouldn’t be on this battlefield unless you have something to offer.”
An eyebrow arches up in slight annoyance as Shang Xiang gazes up at the male in front of her, folding her arms across her chest with a light huff. “Why yes, I am. And what do you mean with girls like you?”
She exhales a sigh, rocking back and forth on her heels as she flashes a playful smile at him. “I’m a princess. A warrior princess, to be exact. I have a lot to offer!”
The princess was laying on her stomach on top of the layers of blankets and throw pillows, propping up her head with one hand and idly swinging the other back and forth over the edge. Her eyes were half closed, glowing brightly in the blue light from outside. She was restless, hating herself for not sleeping and occasionally muttering something about how boring it was. Basically, there was something wrong, and she couldn’t find out what it was. Her thoughts were exasperated. She rolled over onto her back, glaring at the high ceiling as if she’d find the answers. A list of possible problems ran through her head. She rejected each one, frowning as the list grew.
“Maybe it’s the war…” Impossible: that was like saying her problem was fishing if she were someone who sold sea bass. She lived for the moment when a battle really started. It was who she was… a warrior. “Maybe someone plans to capture me?” This, also, would never happen. She may have been a princess, but there were far more valuable woman in her kingdom. They weren’t royalty, but they were beautiful. “And I’m…” She sighed. She was the tom-boy girl, the fiery young ruler with a knack for fighting. “…I’m a freak… “
Moving on. She couldn’t afford to be moping and being completely bewildered by her own mind. Deciding to take a walk to clear her head, Shang Xiang swung her legs and got up from her bed, her eyes examining the clear night sky through the window before she slipped on a pair of simple shoes and a jacket over her silky two-set pyjama. The young princess knew that her father and her brothers would most likely freak if they would find out about her random little night walk, but being a rebel was in her nature, anyway. It took her about half an hour to leave the castle unnoticed, having to make sure the night guards wouldn’t see her.
The night was cool and crisp, the world was peacefully asleep. The moon was full, hanging low like a vibrantly glowing orb. The stars twinkled happily, winking at one another in the sky. Everything was still. Everything was calm as the brunette walked slowly through the low grass of the park which was near by the castle, not wanting to worry everyone even more by walking further away from her home. “I wonder what is it like to be.. a real lady.” She sighed at the thought, leaning the right side of her body against her tree, her gaze lowering to the small lake not too far from her. The lake was quiet, as quiet as this peaceful night just bothered by a clouded mind.

*Smiles back at SSX* It is true m’lady. I’m just one man in the service of lord Cao Mengde. There are many others that of my caliber as well. Xun Wenruo(Yu), who is also my mentor, Cheng Yu, Xun You, Sima Yi, Jia Xu, Zhang Yao, Chen Qun and many more. Compared with just talent, I am but one man.
I kind of have to disagree with you, good sir. -Taps the tip of his nose with her fingertip- Every single man counts! No matter if a simple soldier or a strategist. Everyone is needed to lead the empire to victory. -Shrugs a bit- But that’s just my opinion.
